FCL Trustees
Our Board of Trustees includes senior leaders with experience of the Church and from business and the public service sectors. Each has specific expertise in leadership and people management.
Dame Janet Trotter was appointed as Chair of the Trustees of the Foundation for Church Leadership from October 2006, Dame Janet Trotter is also Chair of Gloucester NHS Foundation Trust. She retired as Director of the University of Gloucestershire in the summer of 2006.
Janet has also previously worked at King Alfred’s College of HE, Winchester and St Martin’s College of HE, Lancaster.
Mr Stephen Bampfylde is a Partner in the executive search company of Saxton Bampfylde Hever. He was a member of the C of E Archbishops’ Council, its principal direction-setting group. He is also Chair of the Council at Guildford Cathedral.
Before his retirement Mr John Marks, FCL’s Founding President was a Director of Trebor, the sweet making company. He has interests in teamwork and teambuilding and supports a number of ventures through his charitable activity.
Sir Philip Mawer is formerly Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards and Secretary General of the C of E’s General Synod and Secretary General of the Archbishops’ Council. His earlier career had been in the Civil Service, including the post of Secretary to Lord Scarman’s Inquiry into the Brixton Disturbances.
Mrs Sally Muggeridge is Chief Executive of the Industry and Parliament Trust, Sally has had a distinguished career in business working as Director, Development for Pearson plc and before that Human Resources Director of Cable & Wireless, Asia.
Ms Eve Poole lectures on Leadership at Ashridge Business School. Her previous careers have included time with the Church Commissioners, the Scottish Redundant Churches Trust, and Deloitte Consulting. She holds an MBA from the University of Edinburgh and is currently studing for a PhD in capitalism and theology at the University of Cambridge.
The Rt Revd Trevor Willmott has been Bishop of Basingstoke since 2002. Before that he had been Archdeacon of Durham and Director for Ministry in Peterborough. For a number of years he was also Chairman of the Trustees of the Edward King Institute for Ministry Development.
FCL Officers:
Canon Louise Gilbert has been Diocesan Secretary in the Diocese of Rochester since February 2000. She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, has an MBA and previously worked in the glass research industry.
