About Us
The Foundation for Church Leadership (FCL) is an endowed charitable trust: its aims are to facilitate the support and development of emerging and senior church leaders, faith representatives and organisations for the benefit of leadership across the church. The Foundation primarily delivers its objectives through the provision of a series of consultancy and research initiatives.

FCL’s Aims and Objectives
Our Aim is to support, encourage and inspire Church leaders as they tackle new challenges in leadership at a time when:
- Different styles of leadership are emerging
- New patterns of leadership are creating new networks and partnerships
- Church structures are under pressure and responding to change
- Alliances are being formed to develop understandings of leadership
How we work:
By building on the networks that already exist we seek to contribute to the development of leadership by:
- Identifying emerging theologies of leadership
- Sponsoring work which will enable teams and individuals to develop their leadership potential
- Evaluating training and project outcomes, sharing best practice and publishing results
We encourage learning through:
- Research
- Practical initiatives
- Encounter
- Partnership
Our identity:
The Foundation for Church Leadership was established in 2003 as an enabler of action and a sponsor for training, research and consultancy in church leadership.
The Board of Trustees include senior leaders with experience of the Church and from business who each has specific expertise in leadership and people management.
There are four established key areas of strategic work that are the primary focus of the Board:
- Finance and fund raising
- Communications
- Theology
- Consultancy
